It works in wine (sortof)

Hey i got the latest binary (214) and was going to put it on a cd with some mp3's and decided for kicks why not try it in wine. After switching the output over to wave (and blowing out my eardrums) the files played exactly as if they were on my XMMS. The only problem was that the playlist editor was screwed up and wouldn't show the name but i could load the songs there. This is promising as to there could be a linux port in the future.

Will someone use winelib and port it to Linux if you know linux?

To all you whiners wanting lots of function and extra code chew on this:

By making it run into WINE does not means that a port to Linux is that easy too. It uses the windows API directly. Maybe that is the reason why you could make it run that easy into WINE. I don't think it would be great to try to fix it for WINE (maybe that broken window you saw is a WINE bug after all) as it would be better a port to Linux.

bye
