The Cit Mile Dash was created by Cancer Council NSW to raise funds – and with a great cause and an extremely short distance, it’s the perfect event to get your work buddies involved (1.6km is only 1600 metres!). Nike Janoski Damen Teams have to be in groups of 4 and you can register yours here.

Use this to sell it to your work mates.
– The course is 800m out and 800m back. This gives you a good indication of how long is left in the race.
– Don’t burn out in the first few hundred metres – find your rhythm for the first 200m (especially as you weave around everyone else!) and save your energy to unleash in the last 500m on the way back.
– Don’t drink or eat too much within the hour before hand – this is a 1.6km race, not 160km.
– If you do get a stitch during the race/sprint – inhale deeply and exhale strongly – repeat for a Nike Free 5.0 Herre few breaths. This often helps runners alleviate the stitch for a short period of time without having to stop.
