Crashes when playlist is empty

If I move all my music files, open the coolplayer and then select one of the songs from the playlist (that is no longer in the same file location) - coolplayer locks up, continues to cycle through the empty playlist and cannot be closed. It also does not allow task manger to be opened - so I must reboot because I cannot kill the process.
The same happens if I open a mp3-file just by doubleclicking on it. Coolplayer starts (it is associated with mp3-files) and plays the file. When I close CoolPlayer it saves this file in the default playlist. When I delete the file and try to start Coolplayer later, it hangs because it couldn't find the file in the playlist.
I would prefer that CoolPlayer doesn't automatically save the playlist (and destroys my original playlist) but queries if it should save the new playlist.
Or at least it should check if the file in the playlist really exists.
