i´ve came across the coolplayer 1 year ago... and find it very good because it is pretty small, portable and good looking too...

i ve got a large mp3 collection and often load mp3 from radio streams...due to that, there is sometimes speaking at the end of the tracks or even tracks i dont like... or other worse tracks with sudden ending or something else....

because of the mass of tracks it is absolutely impossible to check track by track for quality !!! the only option i ve got is to listen to the tracks randomized day by day while im doing other things and pick out the bad ones... for deletion, for cutting or working on the tracks, to get the data consistenz better and better...

i guess that a lot of people that have a large mp3 collection gathered from internet radios, may have the same problems with teir data !

i want to apollogise or request you to programm an extension using shortcuts (F9/F10/F11/F12 ( for example)) and/or buttons to the player....

F9 = put track that was played bevore to a predefined working direktory
F10 = physikally delete track from disk that was played before
F11 = jump to next track and put currently playing track to a predefind working directory
F12 = jump to next track and physikally delete track from disk that is currently playing

(all tracks that were moved or deleted => should disappear from playlist simultaniusly)

this way it would be possible to get the data masses sorted with very less work and it would be possible to do this while you dont have to pay too much attention to it !!!!!
users could concentrate on their workin direktory jobs if they think its full enough to make some work of it....

please tell me what you think about these funktions

thnx

Amarok has this feature where you can bind a custom system hot key to pause, resume play, advance the track, etc.

I like to use something like:
"WinKey + /" to play / pause
"WinKey + <" for back one track
"WinKey + >" to advance one track

CoolPlayer is a really nice, lightweight replacement for WinAmp. (I use the portable apps edition.)

This feature would make it better for us keyboard users that don't want to use the mouse to quickly play/pause -- just to bring the player out of the system tray just to hit pause and re-minimize the window. (ie: to take a call on Skype, or talk with the wife who just walked in)

1) Is there a hotkey or commandline command
to bring up CoolPlayer (CP) Options?
When CP is activated, various "hotkeys" exist: A, L, P, X etc ...
I would like to open CP Options with a hotkey.
Could it be done?
Thank you.

I'd like to have the ability to control the playback speed of soundfiles, specially to make them play faster.
Optimum range of speed would be gradually until double speed. I listen to lots of audiobooks and like to listen at about 1.7 times the normal speed.
Hope to see this feature one day, love that coolplayer is so "lightweight".

I'm using Cool Player for Portable Apps and I LOVE IT!

I've enabled the "remember last played" from the Options menu and it works but not like I'd like it to.

It would be very, very cool if cool player would remember the last position inside the track I was playing instead of just remembering which file I was playing.

Example: I listen to long format audio "Podcasts" and its not uncommon for a file to be longer than my commute and I'd like to be able to jump back inot my car and have the player remember that I was X minutes into a given track and resume playing from that position.

Love the product. Keep up the hard work.

A U3 version would be uber cool also.

I've two suggestions....

First, Coolplayer has several rename options EXCEPT renaming the file to...
"Artist - Title"
...(I -don't- want to rename to Artist-Track#-Title, thank you).

Second, it would be really handy if we could right click on an entry, somewhere, (or a button) in the playlist and 'Delete the -actual- file from drive'... so we can clean up folders, duplicates, etc. (I know you can set a playlist to not show more than one instance of a file.)

Are either of these possible already in Coolplayer? I haven't found them.

I Don't know how more or less it makes it portable freindly but all the coolplayer is missing is some ID3 tagging and lyrics support and it can be one kick ass application

I have been using iTunes for three years now and I can't help but complare any software to it, Graphically Cool Player is on another level and it has a very easy and simple interface ... But something is missing

Some of the feature of iTunes like Lyrics support and ID3 tagging and maybe even a playlist selector and music organizer would be nice additions but like I said, I'm not the programmer here, you fellas are so I don't know how much of that is doable or not

Either way this player is pretty awesome and the whole portable apps suite that I'm using it on is pretty awesome too ... You've done a great job, Good work and keep it up

Also does this install anything or is it completely portable?

I downloaded Coolplayer+Portable 2.17.1 from PortableApps.com. I love the player, with only one tiny exception. In the playlist editor, the text for the currently playing song is in white on a light gray background. On some monitors I can barely make out what song is playing. If there were a configuration setting in an INI file that I could use to set the text color of the currently playing song, that would be great. Better yet would be the option to not only choose the color but also to boldface the text or to be able to change the background color behind it. I've looked at the tutorial for creating skins for the playlist, but I don't see anything that touches on this.

How portable (USB, to carry around pc to pc) friendly is CoolPlayer? Meaning does it write settings to the registry and %appdata% directory (It seems as if settings are stored to the .ini but I'm just making sure) if not and can this be changed? Also can relative paths be used optionally (as a feature, even for library)? when in portable mode? e.g. X:\Music\Foo becomes F:\Music\Foo <--- can this feature be implemented (relative paths in general be added as a feature? (mainly for skins and a music library when operating from a usb device))

Thanks for the latest version of coolplayer, I can finally save my favorite skin!
I know you just released a latest update, but I'm just wondering if you could add a feature that allows coolplayer to auto-play when Windows starts-up because I like listening to music whenever I open my computer. Of course, you don't have to rush on anything but maybe you could do it the next time you would release an update for coolplayer. Thanks!
